Kimberly Region North-Westen Australia

English: At the beginning of the dry season we teamed up with our friends and headed off on a long journey to the Kimberly region in North-Western Australia. It took the best part of 5 days to get to Kununurra, the last stop to stock up on food and supplies. Not far from there is the eastern end of the famous Gibb River Road, a rough gravel road that runs for almost 1000km through some of the most ancient  and most beautiful places in Australia, and leads to Broome, a coastal town in the North-West. After driving for a couple of weeks on this track, anything that hadn't been secured properly had fallen off the car of of our bodies.

English:  In Broome we saw the rare event of a Lunar eclipse, followed by the "Stairway to the Moon".  This happens when the full moon rises at low tide and reflects in the ripples of the sand. Our trip back went past Wolf Creek Crater and the Bungle Bungle Range. A 'shortcut' turned into a bit of a slippery affair when we had to skid and slither for some 250km on a muddy track before we gave up and spent the night at Top Springs, a one-horse town.
